Quantum Optics

Undergraduate core course for Engineering Physics Bachelor of Technology and graduate core course for M. Sc. Physics Program at IIT Bombay.

Syllabus: Quantization of light, coherent states, Fock states, squeezed states, nonlinear optics and SPDC, SU(2)/SU(1,1) interferometers and beam splitters, balanced homodyne detection and experimental requirements (mode matching, laser phase noise, detection efficiency), quantum key distribution, atom-light interaction (semiclassical and fully quantum).
